Contract Copywriter

On-site, 5 days per week in Austin, TX

Experience: 3+ years

Contract Length: 3 months to start with potential to extend

Our client, an established consumer brand in the performance/lifestyle space is seeking a contract Copywriter who excels at crafting sharp, attention-grabbing short-form copy that drives action. This role focuses on creating high-performing messaging across digital channels, including email, web, and paid media. The ideal candidate understands how to quickly capture attention and convert through concise, compelling language.

Responsibilities:




  • Write customer-facing short-form copy across marketing channels, including email, paid ads, website headers, landing pages, and campaign assets



  • Develop high-converting email subject lines, preview text, and headline hooks



  • Create compelling ad copy, web hero messaging, calls-to-action, and promotional headlines



  • Craft concise product messaging that clearly communicates features, benefits, and key differentiators



  • Partner with creative and marketing teams on campaign concepts, messaging strategies, and testing ideas



  • Continuously iterate on copy based on performance data, feedback, and channel insights



  • Research customer insights, product reviews, and competitive positioning to strengthen messaging


  • Support ongoing website updates, launches, and seasonal campaign refreshes
  • Help maintain a consistent, conversion-driven brand voice across all short-form touchpoints


Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of copywriting experience, ideally within a fast-paced consumer brand environment



  • Strong portfolio demonstrating range across marketing channels (email, web, campaigns, product copy)



  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail



  • Proven ability to write concise, conversion-driven short-form copy



  • Strong instinct for hooks, urgency, clarity, and attention-grabbing headlines



  • Solid understanding of audience, tone, and drivers of engagement and conversion


  • Comfortable working independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines

  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to incorporate feedback efficiently



  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills


  • Curiosity and a bias toward learning - you actively seek to understand the product, customer, and market


The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $41-$47 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
