Who You Are: Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time Payroll and AP Specialist. What You'll Do: Payroll Operations
- Oversee weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll cycles through ADP Workforce Now for domestic and international locations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Perform fullcycle payroll processing for assigned company codes, including transmission of payments via TimePro/CashPro for international team members.
- Reconcile labor postings between Deltek Costpoint and ADP General Ledger Map Files; investigate and resolve outofbalance items in coordination with Accounting.
- Execute and audit PTO, vacation, and sick leave balances and accruals in accordance with company policy, Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), and Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements.
- Ensure payroll deductions, withholdings, and taxation are accurate and compliant with federal, state, and local labor laws.
- Submit all thirdparty postpayroll payments timely, including payroll taxes, 401(k) contributions, FSA/HSA, union dues, and Health & Welfare fringe payments.
- Identify, research, and resolve payroll discrepancies; communicate clearly and professionally with affected employees and managers.
- Maintain payroll records in compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and legal recordretention requirements.
- Generate and maintain payrollrelated reports, including certified payrolls, union dues, retirement plan payments, and ACH/wire reports.
- Support quarterly and annual payroll activities, including tax filings, W2 processing, and distribution, in partnership with the Payroll Manager/Director.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes, documentation, and internal controls.
- Assist with training and mentoring junior payroll staff to support crosstraining and operational continuity.
Accounts Payable Operations
- Process highvolume vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding to company codes, projects, cost centers, and general ledger accounts.
- Perform threeway matching invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation; research and resolve discrepancies prior to payment.
- Validate invoice compliance with contractual terms, FAR/DFARS requirements, and applicable tax regulations; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire, and check payments, in accordance with internal approval controls and payment schedules.
- Maintain complete and accurate AP records and supporting documentation in compliance with audit, regulatory, and recordretention requirements.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve unapplied payments, outstanding balances, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Respond professionally to vendor inquiries regarding invoice status, payment timing, and remittance details.
- Assist with monthend and yearend close activities, including AP accruals, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Project Accounting, and Payroll to ensure expenses are recorded accurately and consistently across systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline AP processes and strengthen internal controls.
CrossFunctional Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with Payroll, Accounting, HR, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve issues and ensure data integrity across systems.
- Follow established SOPs; recommend updates to improve efficiency, compliance, and accuracy.
- Support internal and external audits by providing timely documentation and explanations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll, financial, and employee information.
- Lead by example while supporting organizational initiatives, inclusion & diversity efforts, and continuous improvement.
- Comply with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.
What You'll Bring:
- Seeking a strong collaborator with demonstrated ability to work successfully with cross functional teams.
- Knowledge of US federal and state employment laws, collective bargaining agreements, McNamara O'Hara Service Contract Act, Fair Labor Standards Act; knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Ability to analyze data and make accurate math calculations by adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, calculating percentages, and similar functions.
- Ability to quickly make decisions based on accurate and timely data analysis.
- Capable of working under pressure of deadlines and able to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to prioritize multiple competing tasks.
- Intermediate Excel skills to include use of pivots and Vlookups.
- Knowledge of project accounting concepts. Payroll/Timekeeping system experience preferred: Deltek Costpoint, ADP Workforce Now.
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience in Payroll to include union experience or an associate degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Experience processing Payroll/Timekeeping for 3,000 or more employees with a large multi-state or international employer preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
- Government Contracting Experience preferred
- Some Accounts Payable experience preferred
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.
- Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate's start date.

Compensation Expected Salary: $73,000 - $83,000 per year Versar Global Solutions provides the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
