The UMKC Center for Neighborhoods provides leadership training, technical assistance, and applied planning research to help neighborhood leaders, advocates, and residents recognize their assets in their communities and address their challenges. Using an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) methodology. CFN collaborates with university faculty, staff, students, and partner organizations to create a learning environment focused on community-identified priorities.

Since opening its doors in 2016, CFN has engaged, equipped, and empowered over 300 neighborhood leaders with the tools they need to reach their full potential and build capacity in their communities.

Job Description

Key duties and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Utilizing working knowledge and learned skills to perform various activities for the job
  • Providing support for the management of daily business operations, including assisting with travel management, calendaring, meeting agendas and document management
  • Managing and ensuring that all administrative and operational tasks and duties are conducted in a professional and efficient manner
  • Identifying and submitting detailed and pertinent information for various reports
  • Providing administrative support in the office by coordinating the front desk and office administration
  • Helping schedule and coordinate meetings
  • Assisting with fundraising and event coordination
  • Ensuring all communication is precise, timely, and demonstrates a high level of professionalism
  • Ensuring calls and messages to the Center for Neighborhoods that need guidance reach the right team member
  • Managing the reception of visitors and represent the organization appropriately
  • Performing general office administrative duties
  • Supporting events and Neighborhood Leadership Training (Cohort)
  • Organizing and completing structured assignments according to priorities
  • any other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but will consider equivalent experience.

Anticipated Hiring Range

$15/hr through $21/hr

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.00 -$21.00 per hour.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
