Information Services, Project Management Job Description
The UMKC Department of Information Services is seeking an IT Project Manager who is team-oriented and known for their attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to take initiative. This individual will be responsible for working with fellow IT Project team members, departments, and academic/business units to plan, execute, monitor, control, and close simultaneous IT projects. Many of these projects will be part of campus construction/renovation efforts. Familiarity with projects of this type is preferred. This individual will also be responsible for managing programs (collections of related projects). This individual will perform project management services in support of campus and system projects and must be able to perform job tasks in a busy environment with frequent interruptions while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work. Successful applicants will be organized, patient individuals, who can remain calm and problem solve in fast-paced situations. This individual will be expected to provide exceptional customer service to our faculty, staff, students, and community. Work performed is often time-sensitive, therefore multitasking skills are very important. Duties include but are not limited to:
Shift
The typical shift is 8am to 5pm. The position is expected to work on campus 2 days a week, plus attend any in-person project meetings as needed. Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is required. Preferred Qualifications
Project Management Profession (PMP) certification and/or other Project Management certifications are preferred and four years of experience. Familiarity with working on construction/renovation projects to deliver IT services. Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,915 to $84,968 annually. Application Deadline
