Aerobraze, a division of Wall Colmonoy manufactures turbine engine components like turbine nozzles, turbine vanes, complete turbine engines (both manufacturing and repair), diffusers, honeycomb seals and segments, heat shields, and parts for various turbomachinery.

Essential Responsibilities

CNC Programming & Process Development
  • Program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam to produce precision aerospace components
  • Assist in machine selection, operation sequencing, and process planning
  • Develop machining strategies optimized for quality, repeatability, and efficiency
  • Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies based on material and part geometry
Fixture & Tooling Design
  • Design and develop fixtures conceptually and/or in SolidWorks
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure fixturing meets production and quality requirements
  • Specify cutting tools, holders, probes, and workholding solutions
Shop Floor Support
  • Perform first-part setup and run-off on assigned programs
  • Support first article inspection (FAI) and resolve any machining or process issues
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support during program prove-out and production ramp-up
Documentation & Training
  • Create clear, detailed setup sheets, including:
    • Tool lists
    • Fixture setups
    • Work offsets
    • Programming and inspection notes
  • Train machine operators on:
    • Program execution
    • Setup requirements
    • Process intent and critical quality characteristics
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, tool life, and process reliability
  • Support lean manufacturing, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with quality, engineering, and operations teams to resolve non-conformances

Qualifications and Experience
  • CAD/CAM Experience
    • Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks modeling experience
    • Minimum 3 years of Mastercam programming experience
      • Mills, lathes, and part probing required
      • Wire EDM and/or plunge EDM experience is a strong plus
  • Machining Experience
    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on machining experience, including:
      • Vertical Mills
      • Horizontal Lathes
      • Vertical Lathes
    • Additional experience with the following is preferred:
      • Horizontal Mills
      • 5-Axis Mills
      • Wire EDM
      • Plunge EDM
      • Live tooling environments
      • Experience in AS9100 / FAA-regulated aerospace environments
      • Strong understanding of GD&T and inspection methods
      • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
      • Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor operators and junior programmers
      • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply aerospace engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
