General Summary of Position:

Military & Veteran Services serves the Veteran population at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and is responsible for recruiting, retention, and recognition of Student Veterans, Veteran Faculty and Staff, and developing cohesive relationships with the local Veteran community. The Administrative Staff Assistant will support the Director of Veteran Services with a variety of functions including customer service and programs and initiatives directly related to the Office mission and vision. The Administrative Staff Assistant will provide outstanding customer support, including budgetary tasks. This individual must be able to provide outstanding customer support with internal and external stakeholders and work compatibly with office staff and others while ensuring financial obligations and deadlines are met. The Administrative Staff Assistant must be prompt and reliable in order to provide seamless coverage of the Office phones and walk-in customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: HS Diploma or GED/equivalent, with Associates or higher preferred.

Experience: 3-5 years of office management experience, preferably in an educational setting working with college students, proven ability and experience to work with students of diverse backgrounds, experience in overseeing and managing financial accounts, extensive computer skills, excellent written and oral skills, demonstrated organizational and management skills; ability to maintain confidential information and knowledge of PeopleSoft. Education may be substituted for experience.
