Summary of Role:

Responsible for all aspects of lien processing, including perfections, releases, reporting and follow up. Ensures that all activity is performed in a manner consistent with Broadview policy and statutory requirements.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Act as subject matter expert on lien filing process, procedures for both New York State and out of state lien filings

  • Participate in new lender training by delivering a presentation on titles and liens particulars

  • Maintain the Titles and Liens Fred page and training materials, ensuring all materials and information is up to date based on changes in guidelines per each state's lien filing particulars

  • Provide written feedback and coaching to branch and MSC lenders on titles and liens process, as needed

  • Show initiative and take action with an appropriate level of independence

  • Maintain all processes and training materials for titles and lien's function

  • Process New York State titles received

  • Act as main contact for lien filing vendor to address programming concerns, make recommendations for improvements, and ensure all documents used by vendor remain up to date.

  • Ensure liens are perfected on new vehicle loans funded

  • Prepare and send all requests for information/missing title letters to members

  • Administer third-party software solution to ensure automated lien filing

  • Coordinate with vendor on Out of State lien perfections, as necessary

  • Process bad address and name change updates, as required

  • Prepare and issue lien releases, as required and per policy

  • Create, review and process lien reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, identifying and documenting trends and areas for improvement

  • Handle all activity requests submitted for titles and liens issues within set timeframe

  • Prepare Security Agreement/Loan liner letters, when required

  • File UCC's within required timeframes and consistent with internal policies

  • Prepare and submits periodic monitoring and delinquency reports

  • Capacity to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Assists Loss Mitigation with duplicate title forms, DMV forms, and any additional requirements for repossession, as needed

  • Member support intermediary/liaison for previous leasing company regarding duplicate title, lien release, and/or Bill of Sale

  • Intermediary between auto lenders/bookers for both NYS and out of state DMV; ensures all lien filing documentation is up to date with all states

  • Other duties as needed

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, plus one-year financial services experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year consumer lending experience preferred

  • Very high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including the ability to create and manipulate Excel documents

  • Proficiency in typing, filing, grammar, spelling and punctuation, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Starting Compensation: $20.68-$24.82/hr. annually, plus a competitive benefits package.
