About the Job

The School of Public Health occasionally needs to hire employees on a temporary and/or casual basis throughout the year. These positions perform a variety of nonacademic and/or academic work responsibilities.

Appointments will be set up as one of the following:

  • Temporary: short-term, 67 workdays or less in a calendar year or
  • Casual: characterized by schedules that are variable, intermittent, on-call and consistently 14 hours a week or less

Starting pay is dependent upon the selected candidate's relevant qualifications, experience, and internal equity and assignment of duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Administration Support

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence (50%)
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support for School of Public Health faculty and/or staff which may include, copying, scanning, typing and other operational requirements as requested. (50%)

OR

Research Support

  • Collaborate with School of Public Health faculty and/or research staff to facilitate ongoing research (50%)
  • Gather and analyze data (50%)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Additional work experience, education, and/or certification requirements are based on, and cannot exceed, the qualifications for work performed in comparable UMN job classifications.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $18 - $150 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
