Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports the production of various multimedia marketing deliverables for the U of A Campus Store.
  • Designs, illustrates and prepares layouts for all forms of marketing materials including but not limited to: (electronic) eBlasts, web pages, user interfaces both mobile and other, presentations, web advertisements, digital signage; (print) advertisement, postcards/self-mailers, booklets, brochures, magazines, newsletters, annual reports, banners, posters, point-of-purchase displays, signs, flyers; (logo) campaigns and identities; (3D) displays, signage, apparel design; (photography/videography) architectural, product, food, models.
  • Collaborates with other members of the team to complete marketing project deliverables as assigned and by their respective deadlines.
  • Construct concept designs, using storyboards, scripts, and preproduction materials for projects for print, digital, branded, photography and video.
  • Adapt approaches based on production needs and the content while maintaining objectives and narrative coherence.
  • Proactively respond to inquiries about creative services and take initiative in providing technical guidance to the clients.
  • Attend team meetings and offer process and production insights based on project requirements and best practices.
  • Take initiative in engaging with stakeholders in a collaborative manner, proactively building consensus and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Dependably manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Take on tasks as needed that help the entire multimedia team, from doing inventory, to researching new gear and techniques, to participating in team-building and team-growth exercises.
  • Work closely as part of a team, reviewing each other's work and offering assistance and feedback.
  • Demonstrate reliability in maintaining detailed project documentation in project management software and keeping records current.
  • Operate, manage and transport technical equipment to field locations, ensuring proper setup and operation in diverse environments.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge in Mac-based software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, and Acrobat.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Skilled in graphic and visual design such as layout composition, hierarchy, balance, identity, color theory, and typography.
  • Knowledge in digital and print production knowledge, including processing and editing using digital editing systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to operate various graphic design equipment such as graphic computers, cameras, printing, and lettering equipment, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of retail business.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lift, transport/move a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must be able to work, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
