Overview

In this highly technical Principal Product Manager - Windows Insider Program role on the WIP team, you will work to understand and balance the needs of insiders, engineering, marketing, legal, and others while having a seat at the table with Leadership for making critical engineering decisions that define how Windows ships new experiences and devices. Your primary focus will be on evolving how Windows releases features, enables new hardware and silicon, and gradually rolls out experiences to customers both internally and externally. You will drive the product strategy for our release systems, flighting infrastructure, and data platforms. You will synthesize complex inputs from customer data, feedback, technical platform capabilities, and cross-team release plans to configure what ships, when, and how. You'll also partner with your SWE counterparts to leverage frontier AI capabilities to design and deliver AI agent capabilities, using tool/plugin protocols to reduce system complexity and accelerate results. The ideal candidate is passionate, can develop a deep technical understanding of complex software systems, and is able to analyze statistical signals and develop runbooks for data teams. You will use your insights to synthesize complexity into engineering action and drive rollout to both internal validation and external customer audiences. You will define success thresholds and feedback loops that connect customer voice directly back to engineering teams. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
