Project Manager BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors. Position SummaryBB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our team, supporting facilities design and construction projects for NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic. Job Duties & Responsibilities* Provide independent, timely, and professional structural engineering support for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Navy and Marine Corps facilities, including MILCON, minor works, special projects, demolition, and facilities development * Support NAVFAC Program and Project Managers by assisting with project planning, technical reviews, design coordination, and construction oversight * Collaborate with project stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet technical requirements, schedules, and program objectives * Apply engineering expertise to assess project needs and develop practical, cost-effective solutions * Assist with tracking project milestones, technical deliverables, and documentation to support successful program execution * Perform field visits and inspections during design and construction phases as required * Buildings represent approximately 70% of workload; waterfront structures (bridges, piers, dry docks, bulkheads) approximately 20% Requirements * U.S. Citizenship and theability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required * Certification: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the discipline of Civil or Structural Engineering is required * Knowledge o Expert in advanced structural engineering concepts, principles, and practices as they apply to a wide range of shore and waterfront facilities, including piers, bulkheads, quays, and dry-dock facilities, housing, medical facilities, and aviation facilities o Mastery level knowledge and skill in applying, advanced theories, concepts, and principles of structural engineering o Ability to apply new developments or experimental theories in structural engineering to problems not readily treatable by conventionally accepted methods o In depth knowledge of DOD and Navy guides, specifications, criteria and policy, industry codes and standards, and standard practices related to civil/structural engineering design o In depth knowledge of local, state, federal, and foreign country laws, codes, and other statutory requirements affecting structural engineering design throughout the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic AOR o Knowledge of related architectural and engineering fields and their associated impacts as related to structural engineering design o Ability to produce results of analysis in writing and consolidate findings of others and evaluate recommendations and facts. Ability to make oral presentations of proposed designs and results of studies o Knowledge of budgeting, planning and project management techniques, including the ability to coordinate the work of others and lead teams o Knowledge of and full compliance with Safety Policy and Guidance and use of personal protective equipment o Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences o Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge and experience with Autodesk software, structural engineering design and analysis software and other applicable DoD computer systems and software used by the Command o Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously * Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences * Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge and experience with Autodesk software, structural engineering design and analysis software and other applicable DoD computer systems and software used by the Command * Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously Experience & Education* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of professional civil engineering - structural code compliant facilities design experience for new construction, including renovation design experience, is required * Education: Completion of a course of studies accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineers and Technology (ABET) for a civil engineering program from a college or university for a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering with emphasis in structural engineering, supplemented by a considerable amount of hands-on facilities design experience, is required Physical Requirements* Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time * Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc. * Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms * Capable of lifting up to 10 lbs. * Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away * Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone Benefits Competitive compensation packages
