Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Documentary Film Associate for Mason Gross School of Arts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Works on documentary film projects in New Jersey as a field producer, cinematographer, sound recordist, or associate editor.
- Works with the Director of the Documentary Film Lab in gathering and shaping documentary stories.
- Travels to story-related locations as necessary, to organize and or conduct interviews and/or visual documentation.
- Uses film/video equipment and software relevant to their respective role (i.e., cameras if cinematographers, sound gear if recordist, editing software if editors or associate editors).

The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in digital filmmaking.

- A valid driver's license would be required for this position.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
- Fluent knowledge of and comfort with film/video equipment and software relevant to their respective role (i.e., cameras if working with camera, sound gear if recordist, editing software if assistant or associate editors) and a sample reel demonstrating these skills.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
