Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Junior Documentary Film Associate for Mason Gross School of Arts.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Works on documentary film projects in New Jersey as a production assistant or associate producer, cinematographer or sound recordist, assistant editor and/or associate editor.
  • Works with the Director of the Documentary Film Lab in gathering and shaping documentary
    stories.
  • Travels to story-related locations as necessary, to organize and or conduct interviews and/or visual documentation.

FLSA Nonexempt
Salary Details $20 - $27/hourly

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position requires a fully on-site work arrangement and may be eligible for a compressed workweek or a flex workday schedule. Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.


Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of film/video equipment to their respective role (i.e., cameras if working with camera, sound gear if recordist, editing software if assistant editors).
Equipment Utilized

  • Dependent upon role, cameras, sound gear, editing software, etc.


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Standing, sitting, walking for extended periods of time, light lifting required.
