Our Editorial team shapes the voice of Pinterest for hundreds of millions of Pinners around the world. As a Director, Editorial Monetization you'll lead a global editorial monetization group that turns cultural trends and data-driven insights into inspiring, best-in-class editorial content experiences for advertisers across the platform. You'll set the bar for brand creative excellence, foster an inclusive and innovative culture and work cross-functionally to bring trend-led storytelling to life at global scale. What you'll do:
- Set and communicate the Global strategy for Editorial Monetization (both on and off platform).
- Develop and execute strategic plans to deliver against Editorial Monetization revenue goals in monetizable markets.
- Be accountable for the Global performance and results of the Editorial Sponsorships Initiative in partnership with GSO and Product.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of business needs and industry trends to anticipate and build new Editorial Sponsorship Initiatives 24-36 months out.
- Collaborate with Global Head of Editorial Content, Editorial Programing and GSO teams to build out workflows against the Editorial Sponsorships/Ad Sales program and roll out new Editorial Ad Packages.
- Create systems that reinforce a culture of accountability, holding the Editorial Monetization team accountable for the performance of their initiative.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Ad Sales teams on go-to-market implementation of on platform programming, curation and original programming initiatives.
- Employ AI to accelerate planning and cross-functional alignment -rapidly drafting launch briefs, programming proposals, and workflow documentation so that on-platform curation and original programming initiatives move from concept to execution faster.
- Ensure all AI-assisted outputs are reviewed for strategic accuracy, brand consistency, and stakeholder readiness before distribution.
- Apply AI to surface and evaluate incremental campaign opportunities at scale-synthesizing platform engagement data, seasonal trend signals, and cultural moment insights to proactively identify whitespace for campaigns, moments, and tentpole enhancements.
- Oversee the Editorial Tentpole Campaigns ensuring timely reporting back to GSO team to make adjustments/make goods to ensure campaign success.
- Identify incremental strategic opportunities to enhance campaigns, moments and seasons, drive engagement for users across the platform
- Leverage AI to accelerate competitive and market analysis-rapidly synthesizing ad-industry trends, sponsorship benchmarks, and cultural signals to inform Editorial Monetization strategy while applying expert editorial and commercial judgment to validate insights before they reach stakeholders.
What we're looking for:
- 10+ years in editorial monetization content programming or digital publishing, with 5+ years leading managers or large multi-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated success turning cultural trends and data insights into large-scale, measurable advertiser content programs.
- Demonstrated experience using AI to accelerate strategic research and content monetization workflows
- Track record of strategic thinking, timely decision-making and stakeholder influence in high-visibility environments.
- Proven ability to apply AI to streamline reporting, cross-functional documentation, and operational processes at scale
- Expertise juggling multiple complex projects and frameworks (traditional, agile or hybrid) while keeping teams energized and on-track.
- A growth-oriented mindset about the usage of AI as a force multiplier for editorial and monetization teams.
- Inclusive leader who values differences, builds diverse teams and creates space for every voice.
- Exceptional verbal storytelling and presentation skills-you can share a vision, inspire action and represent Pinterest externally.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies or a related field, or equivalent experience.
