Shape the future of transportation across the Gulf Region. Volkert is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex traffic engineering and transportation planning projects in Louisiana. In this role, you'll drive impactful infrastructure solutions, mentor high-performing teams, and build lasting client relationships across DOT and municipal programs. What you'll be doing: Lead the delivery of traffic engineering and transportation planning projects, including traffic operations analysis, signal design and timing, corridor studies, safety evaluations, and long-range planning Serve as the primary client point of contact, building and maintaining strong relationships with DOTs, municipalities, and key stakeholders Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans to ensure successful project delivery Guide and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence Oversee project financial performance, including forecasting, billing, and accounts receivable Ensure quality assurance and control processes are followed and documented Support business development efforts, including proposal development and client engagement Collaborate with regional leadership to support strategic growth initiatives What you need to have: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program Professional Engineer (PE) license 15-20+ years of experience in traffic engineering and/or transportation planning Proven experience managing complex projects, teams, and client relationships Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Proficiency with Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, and OpenRoads Designer Strong knowledge of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles and practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) Bonus points if you have: Experience working with state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) PTOE, PTP, and/or RSP certifications Experience supporting business development, including proposals and client engagement Why Volkert?
