Position Overview The VP Financial Operations is responsible for all accounting, finance and procurement operations of the company, to include the production of periodic consolidated financial and tax reports and forecasts, bank reporting, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of monitoring controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's internal and external reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles as well as work with other ELT members to ensure they have the financial tools needed to be successful in their roles as defined by ExCab and how to use them. Essential Duties
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Manage outsourced functions (auditors, payroll, 401(k) administrator, etc.)
- Develop skills and abilities of your management team to grow as the organization grows and take on more higher management functions within Finance and Procurement departments
- Oversee the operations of the entire accounting and procurement departments, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, policies and procedures and financial reporting.
- Oversee both multi-state and federal tax compliance and reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Manage the financial aspect of the 401(k) and other retirement programs for the organization.
- Ensure Finance team complies with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that accounts receivables are collected promptly and interact with members to ensure payment
- Work with members to ensure they purchase their annual buy up licenses needed and ensure quarterly reporting is provided to Account Managers for periodic updates and appropriate accruals are maintained
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
- Oversee the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely completion and ensure payroll records are current and timely.
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Ensure grant related activities are properly captured, maintained, and reported as well as the annual federal Indirect Rate proposals and the related impact
- Maintain the General Ledger chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and related written processes
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Issue timely and complete consolidated financial statements, related payroll, tax returns, grant and bank compliance reporting
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics including staffing metrics for budgeting including headcount control
- Manage the production of the annual budget, continual annual and three-year forecast
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management including explanations.
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and bank compliance and related forecasts with debt covenants with financial lenders
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements including tax filings
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field is required MBA Preferred
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of 15 years of accounting experience required more than 15 years preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of accounting leadership/management experience required, more than 10 years preferred
- Experience with company acquisitions a plus.
- Experience managing a minimum of 15 remote FTEs, management of up to 30 or more remote FTEs preferred
- Experience implementing and maintaining financial software and payroll systems.
- Intermediate to Advance Excel knowledge is required
- Extensive analytical skills and the ability to clearly communicate decisions, procedures, and processes to a diverse group of people.
- Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and customer service skills.
- Develop strong working relationship with HR Director and other organizational leaders.
- Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks under conditions of fluctuating workloads, competing requirements, and changing deadlines, working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
- Able to effectively present financial information to both small and large groups of stakeholders.

Base Pay Overview OCHIN uses broadened pay ranges to support equitable and market-aligned compensation practices. The final offer will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, certifications, education, experience, training, responsibilities, internal equity, and market data. - Travel is required to support OCHIN's business requirements for Go-Live installations or training which may require travel by air, vehicle, or train.
Work Location and Travel Requirements OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position. Work from home requirements are:
