Data Science Engineer II (Datagrid)

We're looking for a Data Science Engineer II to join the Procore AI team. In this role, you'll help deliver the future of our next-generation insights, recommendations, and automated experience roadmaps, and to enable AI capabilities to everyone in construction on a global platform.

This position reports into Engineering Manager - Machine Learning, and will be based in our Bay Area office in California US. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

  • Work with large scale structured and unstructured data, design and conduct experiments, and analyze and interpret results for Procore product, business and operational use cases.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional partners including software engineers, product managers, operations and data scientists, identify opportunities for business impact, understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for data science solutions, drive engineering decisions, and quantify impact.

  • Leverage third-party and in-house data science tools & infrastructure to develop reusable, highly differentiating and high-performing data science systems, enable fast and iterative development, low-latency serving and ease of quality upkeep. Example projects include: data platform, model interpretability, hyperparameter optimization, concept drift detection.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong programming (Python / R / Julia or equivalent) and data engineering skills

  • Strong understanding of the data science and machine learning technical ecosystems (e.g., Jupyter, Pandas, Scikit, Tensorflow, Pytorch, MLflow, etc)

  • Strong understanding of data science best practices (e.g. experimental design, data cleaning, data visualization, feature engineering, feature/model selection), algorithms and domains (e.g. natural language processing, computer vision, personalization and recommendation, anomaly detection)

  • Understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Experience with using Large Language Models for building applications is a plus.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

129,996.00 - 178,744.50 USD Annual

This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
