Summary
Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.; and maintaining and updating data generated by the study. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a six-month grace period from their hire date (up to one year if starting on a per diem basis) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verifies that all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials and conducting phone interviews.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulator submissions.

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

The Lauer Tinnitus Research Center is seeking a clinical research coordinator to facilitate participant recruitment, data collection, and data analysis. The position requires excellent inter-personal communication skills, fastidious attention to human research compliance documentation, excellent habits for data organization, and timely and professional communication with research participants and senior lab personnel. Experience with EEG recording methods and data analysis are helpful but not required. Experience with - or interest in - tinnitus and related auditory perceptual disorders is helpful but not required. This would be an excellent post-baccalaureate research opportunity for someone looking for two years of research experience before applying to a PhD or MD graduate program.

The candidate would work closely with the Principal Investigator, Research Audiologist, postdoctoral research fellows, engineers, and graduate students on breakthrough approaches to alleviate tinnitus, hyperacusis, and difficulties hearing in noise. The lab has an excellent track record for publishing high-impact studies and supporting the career development opportunities for post-bac research assistant.

Specific activities include: following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing tests such as EEG measurements, psychophsical assessments, questionnaire assessments, gaze and pupillometry assessments, etc.; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.
