A Pathologists' Assistant works closely with pathologists to support patient diagnoses by handling and examining surgical and biopsy specimens. They're responsible for grossing specimens (measuring, describing, and dissecting tissue), making sure everything is properly labeled and documented, and helping keep the lab running smoothly and in compliance.
They're essentially the bridge between the OR and the pathology lab, allowing pathologists to focus on the final diagnosis.
