At Nokia, our Optical Technical Project Managers (TPMs) are based in same country as our customer deployments, so they're always close at hand to provide expert support and real time status updates. TPMs are true experts on the way Nokia integrates and deploys optical products and are an essential piece of Nokia being able to provide top quality deployment services. Aligning resources and material constraints is a daily task which will have to be monitored by the TPM. Finding creative solutions on how projects can be still deployed on time with high quality by overcoming constraints is a skill that will be key to being successful in this role. TPMs are responsible for quickly identifying and resolving any quality issues in projects. The TPM role starts in the bid phase of the project and ends with acceptance of the project when the closeout package is delivered to the customer. Tracking change management and presenting changes and cost updates to the customer through the life cycle of the project is required task of the TPM.   • Thoughtfully cultivate and foster customer relationships, developing an in-depth understanding of the customer at both company and individual levels, including operational, engineering, and management personnel.
  • Serve as the single point of contact and liaison between customer, Nokia and deployment resources.
  • Identify, track, and facilitate continuous improvement of deployment methods which increase speed and reduce chances for errors.
  • Develop custom reporting for status updates on projects to ensure Nokia and the customer are aware of the status of the project and the delivery date of the project.
  • Managing technical requirements, risk budgets and vendor coordination.
  • Collect fiber data and ensure fiber remediation is coordinated with fiber provider for any spans that does not meet requirements.



You have:



  • The candidate will have 7 years past experience with deploying Optical networks, which should include Long-haul, Regional and Metro networks.
  • Experience supporting content providers is a plus.
  • Ideal candidate must be self-motivated, and goal oriented with a proven track record in deployment and integration delivery.
  • Experience with building projects schedules and presenting status of project deployments.
  • The candidate must also be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of high pace deployments.
  • Exceptional organization and project management skills is a must.
  • Must possess persuasive communication skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, customer inquiries, and when submitting reports to the customer, both at operational and engineering levels
  • A B.S. level degree preferred, however candidates with demonstrable technical & customer service depth will also be considered
