POSITION SUMMARY: The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist is a non-union professional position responsible for the independent coordination, oversight, and execution of pharmacy purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain operations, while exercising functional supervision and administrative oversight of pharmacy technicians as assigned. This role is accountable for technician scheduling coordination, workflow prioritization, timekeeping oversight, compliance monitoring, and serves as a delegated supervisory resource in the absence of the Manager, Pharmacy Automation & Technicians. The position requires the ability to independently manage competing priorities, enforce departmental standards, and make time-sensitive purchasing and inventory decisions aligned with hospital policy, regulatory requirements, and budgetary controls. The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist oversees medication and pharmaceutical supply procurement, inventory optimization, contract compliance, shortage mitigation, regulatory documentation, and serves as a subject-matter expert for vendors, group purchasing organizations, and internal stakeholders. This role does not provide direct patient care and operates outside of collective bargaining agreements. Compensation Range: $51,500.00- $75,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications.
