Job Description

Shift: Afternoon
Schedule: 12 PM to 8 PM; Monday - Friday (Flexible)
Pay Rate: $26.00 (Negotiable depending on experience)



Position Overview
The Senior Quality Engineering Technician will help the Quality Department with day-to-day activities, lead improvement projects, and drive customer satisfaction. The Senior Quality Engineering Technician will work very closely with Quality Inspectors and Technicians, as well as cross-functional team members like operators, Mold Technicians, Process Technicians, and Engineers. The position will report directly to the Plant Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities



  • Data Analysis: Utilizes statistical tools (e.g., Minitab) and methods like Statistical Process Control (SPC) to identify quality trends and process variations.
  • Root Cause Investigation: Participates in investigating product failures and customer complaints using problem-solving frameworks like 8D or the 5 Whys.
  • Documentation: Authors and reviews quality reports, inspection instructions, and non-conformance records (NCRs) within a Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Engineering Support: Assists in the development of FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), control plans, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Inspection & Testing: Conducts meticulous inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
  • Internal Audits: Conduct routine departmental checks to ensure procedures, work instructions, and records align with ISO 9001 and SQF Code 9 requirements.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks: as deemed appropriate by Quality Manager to facilitate incumbent professional development, growth and Quality Department Objectives.

Qualifications

Required:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred.
  • 2+ years in a regulated manufacturing environment is required. Plastic injection molding experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Knowledge in ISO 9001, SQF, or ISO 13485 is highly desirable.
  • Professional credentials from the American Society for Quality (ASQ), such as the Certified Quality Technician (CQT), are highly preferred.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Basic, and statistical software, preferably Minitab.
