This is a position with WM Technologies, LLC and affiliate of SPX Enterprises, LLC, which manufactures and sells Weil-McLain branded products. Weil-McLain is a leading North American brand of hydronic comfort heating systems for residential, commercial, and institutional buildings since 1881.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Fabrication Manager, you will lead fabrication operations to deliver excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will drive performance through strong leadership, lean manufacturing practices, and cross-functional collaboration while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational accountability.

Leadership & Team Development

  1. Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supervisors, team leads, and production associates.
  2. Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous development.
  3. Promote a safe, collaborative, and inclusive work environment across all levels of the organization.
  4. Develop and execute training and workforce development plans to strengthen team capabilities.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  1. Drive plant objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through effective manufacturing execution.
  2. Establish, monitor, and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with plant and business goals.
  3. Lead and sustain lean manufacturing initiatives, including waste reduction and process optimization.
  4. Champion cultural transformation through continuous improvement and operational discipline.
  5. Identify and implement process improvements to increase throughput and efficiency.

Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  1. Ensure adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  2. Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve product and process issues.
  3. Collaborate with Supply Chain and Finance to meet or exceed cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  4. Support engineering change management, process validation, and audit readiness.

Financial & Strategic Execution

  1. Manage departmental budgets and financial performance, including cost control and productivity improvements.
  2. Analyze operational performance metrics such as labor efficiency, variances, and product mix impacts.
  3. Support development and execution of business strategies and operational plans.
  4. Drive innovation and performance through stretch goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role in a high-volume environment.
  • Proven leadership experience, managing teams and driving operational performance.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments to achieve business objectives.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have or be proficient in the following:
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Lean manufacturing expertise, including:
  • One-piece flow, line balancing, and throughput optimization
  • Visual factory (KPIs, pacing boards, continuous improvement tools)
  • Work cell design and efficiency improvements
  • Strong Quality Systems knowledge including:
  • PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, and control plans
  • Error-proofing (Poka-yoke)
  • ISO / TS 16949 standards
  • Engineering and process knowledge including:
  • Standard Work Instructions (SWI)
  • Testing and audit processes
  • Engineering change management
  • Financial and operational acumen including:
  • Standard costing, labor variances, and productivity metrics
  • Staffing models, rates, and product mix impacts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and implement solutions quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) with strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards (preferred).

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field required (or equivalent experience).

Travel & Working Environment

  • Up to 25% travel is required.
  • Onsite role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment requiring hands-on leadership.
