Light Industrial - Receiving Forklift Operator

Pay: $17.50 per hour Job Summary
The Receiving Forklift Operator is responsible for shipping, receiving, and routing materials into and out of the Business Unit (BU), while maintaining accurate documentation and data entry. This role ensures proper inventory management, supports warehouse operations, and contributes to process improvements within the facility. Job Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, and process materials for both on-site and off-site facilities, entering receipts into the Materials Management system
- Notify the Warehouse Manager of discrepancies between received materials and shipping documentation
- Prepare outbound shipments, including documentation
- Manage the Returned Goods process according to SOP
- Deliver stock to staging areas and store items in designated locations, ensuring proper rotation by receipt date and expiration date
- Identify and report short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) to the Warehouse Manager
- Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventory
- Comply with all applicable policies, including Materials and Services Management, HR, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, and CLIA
- Analyze warehouse procedures and recommend process improvements
- Assist with order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of internal and external orders
- Support record storage, retrieval, and mail distribution processes
- Operate materials handling equipment as needed (forklift, pallet jack, etc.)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Work Experience
- Minimum six months of materials management or warehouse experience
- Some data entry experience preferred
Skills & Qualifications
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Good record keeping and organizational skills
- Proficiency with computers, printers, and bar code scanners
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
Safety Requirements
- Safety shoes required (lace-up only; steel toe and metatarsal protection not required)
- Athletic styles acceptable; high slip resistance preferred
- One-day leniency policy for compliance with safety shoe requirement
