Job Description Summary:

Draper Laboratory is seeking talented and motivated individuals to tackle challenging engineering problems related to the verification and validation of advanced microelectronics. As a Senior Electronics Test Engineer you will be responsible for planning, developing, documenting, automating, executing, and analyzing complex tests for high performance analog and digital designs.

You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the microelectronic systems that Draper builds meet the challenging performance requirements demanded of them. In some cases you will focus on custom test solutions and in others on scaling test efficiency for production.

You will need to think strategically about the best design for test practices that can be employed and analyze the test results to evaluate system performance. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to a variety of projects in different application areas.

Duties/Responsibilities
* Able to take ownership of assignments and guide others as needed; successfully lead tasks while tracking priorities, scope, cost and schedule.
* Derive plans, approaches, procedures for solving complex I&T problems across a program lifecycle, capturing all assumptions and adapting appropriately to changes in requirements with limited direction.
* Independently contributes high quality content for technical reports and presentations which shows an understanding of their task and an awareness of the intended audience. Demonstrates both confidence and success when presenting technical information during meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
* Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.

Experience
Requires 5-7 years in Systems Engineering or relevant role.

Additional Job Description:

Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to system concepts and architectures that promote design-for-test capabilities.
  • Design and develop high performance test solutions on Automatic/Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for first silicon verification, characterization, qualification, and manufacturing of mixed signal semiconductor devices. Support the bring-up and integration of ATE systems.
  • Work with design engineers to define and develop test methodologies, test plans, and test modes.
  • Design, develop and debug high-throughput solutions for characterization, qualification and production wafer probe and device tests.
  • Coordinate and lead a team of 3 - 5 individual contributors to plan, execute, and document development and production testing in accordance with program objectives and requirements.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software design teams to ensure designs are testable and provide feedback throughout the design process.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in fast paced development environments
  • Experience interfacing with, operating, and troubleshooting common microelectronic test equipment (probe stations, power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters)
  • Experience automating and optimizing test infrastructure and processes
  • Familiarity with common test methodologies such as BIST, Scan, and IDDQ tests
  • Experience with Python, C++, general software engineering practices, and/or data analysis
  • Experience with Cadence design tools
  • Experience with signal processing, circuit analysis, and/or error budgeting

The US base salary range for this full-time position is

$82,300.00 - $220,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
