THE POSITION

Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Area Agency on Aging is on the lookout for a patient and compassionate Aging Care Management Supervisor 3 to lead a team of Aging Casework Supervisors responsible for assisting in protecting and empowering the older adults in our community. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Aging Care Management Supervisor 3, you will lead and oversee the Older Adult Support Bureau's Protective Service Division, directing programs that support and safeguard older adults in the community. This position requires the ability to work with significant independence to develop policies, manage operations, and ensure compliance with state and DHS/AAA regulations. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with internal teams, providers, and stakeholders to improve programs, develop contracts and plans, as well as respond to community needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Setting program goals
  • Designing and implementing services
  • Managing budgets
  • Monitoring performance through data analysis and program evaluation
  • Supervising and support staff
  • Fostering accountability, innovation, and high-quality service delivery

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (hybrid), up to 2 days per week after 6-months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in public or private social work, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; and a Bachelor's Degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other related social sciences.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
