Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Scientist.

In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a Research Scientist in Dr. Hong Suns laboratory, performing advanced laboratory duties under direct supervision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Research Activities

  • Conduct independent researchor develops new ideas that promote current research.
  • Muscle Regeneration Studies:design and perform muscle injury experiments and analyze regeneration using both histopathological and high-throughput techniques.
  • Investigate the function of SATB2 genes in myogenesis and muscle regeneration using genetic modified mouse models.
  • Establish the lung organoid culture to investigate the function of SATB2 genes in lung cancer development and progression.
  • Exercises a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive scientific research programs and activities of outstanding novelty and/or importance.

Laboratory Management and Maintenance

  • Manage the operations of a lab for the Principal Investigator by supervising Post Docs and technicians
  • make significant contributions to scientific papers. Is a resource/ author/ co-author for reports and presentations.
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects.
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the advances in specialized fields through attendance of scientific conferences.
  • Supervise junior lab members and graduate students; provide guidance on experimental planning and interpretation of results.
  • Develops new procedures and protocols; contributes to the development and refinement of experimental methodologies.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of animal protocols and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) approvals.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a MS degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:Substantial experience from having completed Post Doc training. Established a record of publications.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,500.00 - $73,364.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
