The Medicine Service Line is seeking a Medical Intensivist to join our collaborative, high performing team of over 30 physicians and advanced practice providers, who care for the most acutely ill patients at all 5 Inova Hospitals

Our need for intensivists has grown as the acuity and volume of patients in our adult ICU's has increased. We care for the critically ill patients in the four adult ICU's at IFMC- Medical-Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU,. We also provide critical care consultation to patients throughout the hospital, and subspecialty critical care support to the Inova system of hospitals. Post-ICU care is supported by a team of hospitalists, including a subspecialty hospitalist service for neurologic diseases and

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution. Board eligible or board certified in Critical Care.

  • Experience: successful completion of ACGME residency program and a subsequent fellowship with ABMS board certification in critical care

  • Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.

  • Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor

  • Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience as an attending physician at large, tertiary care hospital
