What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

The ideal candidate will possess: (1) Strategic sourcing, Category Management, Procurement, and Vendor Management leadership experience in an environment of relevant size and complexity (i.e., global operations, >$2B revenue, technical product/service); (2) experience building and transforming procurement organizations to evolve from limited maturity and highly decentralized to a globally coordinated, strategic organization that provides centralized support; the leadership and change management skills necessary to build a high performing and scalable organization while gaining buy in from internal and external stakeholders; and (4) a history of building repeatable and sustainable margin expansion/cost reduction programs across the Distributor spend landscape.



  • Provide leadership and change management to build out a new procurement organization from the ground up in a high-growth, highly decentralized environment. Sell the vision and the value of procurement throughout the company and gain buy-in from internal partners. Influence relationships with vendor partners to drive mutually beneficial outcomes. Deliver and track results, including cost savings and improvements to service and quality.
  • Provide overall leadership to the Distributor strategic sourcing, procurement, and partner management functions, including: strategy development and implementation; operating plans and budgets; policies, procedures, metrics, and systems; recruiting and team development; and communications with executive leadership. Work with internal business partners to create and drive standardization and simplification initiatives that improve service, costs, and provides a competitive advantage.
  • Prioritize and execute strategic sourcing initiatives that create savings and value from spend. Structure analysis of spend to enable informed decision-making and conversations with stakeholders. Leverage market intelligence, should-cost modeling, TCO analysis, and modern negotiation methods. Partner with internal stakeholders and with suppliers to develop specifications and requirements that meet customer's needs while optimizing costs.
  • Establish best-in-class vendor relationship management practices. Manage suppliers, ensuring supply reliability and continuity, price stability, price predictability, innovation, and identification of alternative sources. Build partnerships and programs with supply base to drive end-to-end cost optimization. Ensure suppliers perform to contracted obligations and stakeholder expectations. Identify root causes of non-compliance and drive to efficient resolution.
  • Create contracts reflecting the results of sourcing initiatives. Manage market and supplier risks with appropriate legal terms and conditions. Manage contract approval and exception processes. Educate end users about new contracts; track and ensure compliance with approved contracts. Develop and maintain template master service agreements and standard terms and conditions for common and/or critical contracting situations. Lead negotiations and implementation of contractual agreements in partnership with internal and external partners.
  • Provide overall leadership for the procurement process across the network. Determine and implement appropriate P2P enabling technologies and ensure corporate compliance. Ensure procurement system data integrity through appropriate internal controls such as vendor-and material masters. Ensure compliance to the laws, regulations, and ethical standards. Improve and align the requisition, ordering, receipt and payment processes to reduce cycle time and transactions cost.
  • Provide regular intelligence to stakeholders regarding the Company's evolving spend profile, savings results, and risk mitigation activities. Leverage interactions with external marketplace to provide insight to stakeholders regarding pricing, vendor, and technology trends.
  • Identify and hire talent to support the procurement strategy and growth plans. Manage performance through structured and measurable objectives, aligning individual and Company goals. Develop and coach the procurement team to build strong and positive relationships with internal clients and the associated vendor base.



What You'll Need



  • 15+ years sourcing and procurement experience in a leading global organization, including experience building and leading teams; experience sourcing Indirect spend.
  • 15+ years of experience in Indirect Category Management and/or Strategic Sourcing
  • Experience working across a highly decentralized organization and collaborating with central and regional business partners and functional leaders.
  • Experience with category management and multi-step strategic sourcing processes in Indirect and Direct spend categories.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to develop solutions that reduce costs while maintaining quality and service.
  • Knowledge of and working relationship with Distributor suppliers; including ADI, Wesco, ScanSource, Ingram Micro, Tech Data, etc.
  • Expert understanding of purchasing policies, processes and procurement and ERP systems and tools.
  • Expert-level financial, quantitative, and analytical skills; and experience with business and supplier performance score carding and reporting.
  • Able to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously and assess priorities in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage and develop top talent; strong orientation to leadership, coaching, teamwork and indirect networks; a good communicator and change agent.

  • A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: IT Services, Electronic security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation.

Education Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
  • MBA or JD preferred



Travel Requirements:



  • Average 10-25%



Certifications & Licenses:



  • Industry-specific certifications and/or licenses preferred; must have valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Pay Range: $28-34/HR USD
