Tufts University: School of Arts & Sciences: International Literary and Cultural Studies Location Medford, MA Open Date Mar 17, 2026 Salary Range or Pay Grade $9669.00 Description The Department of International Literary and Cultural Studies at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach German language in the Academic Year 2026-2027 (FY27). The position includes a teaching load of three to four (3-4) courses in FY27, with the possibility of renewal with three (3) courses. The schedule for Fall 2026 is set for these class levels and times: GER 1 (Elementary German I - meeting times Mondays 4:30-5:20pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00-4:15pm) and GER 3 (Intermediate German I, meeting times Mondays 6:00-6:50pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-5:45pm). Qualifications Masters' degree (or higher) in German or related field required. Native or near-native fluency in German and English. Experience and demonstrated excellence in designing and teaching college-level German language courses in the U.S. Command of instructional technology applied to language learning. Evidence of creative pedagogical practice reflecting knowlege of current methodologies.
