HDR is seeking a Project Manager - Oil and Gas with experience supporting Industrial sector clients and projects in the Southeast. This individual will be located in HDR's Charleston office supporting oil, gas, and chemical projects. They may also support clients and projects in the manufacturing, agribusiness, food / beverage, mining, and aggregates industries. Primary responsibilities will include project leadership, including management of multidisciplinary teams and understanding of scope of work, schedule, and budget. They must be familiar with engineering disciplines involved on oil and gas pipeline and industrial projects, as well as implementation of QAQC procedures. This role requires client interaction (from pre-positioning for the work, proposal development, through project completion) and strong verbal and written communication skills as needed for regular interaction with internal staff such as project team members, marketing staff, and operations leadership. They will work closely with South Carolina leadership, as well as our Oil, Gas, and Chemicals Practice. On a day-to-day basis, they'll also be expected to:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium single-discipline projects or large, routine projects.
  • Independently coordinate work of professional staff and balance team throughout entire project's development.
  • Establish client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for compliance.
  • Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff.
  • Coordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of documents on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule.
  • Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for project reviews and with company management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP certification or other professional licensure
  • Experience managing engineering projects for oil and gas industry
  • Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
