The positions will be hired at either a Level I or Level II depending on the duties assigned and qualifications (see Qualifications section). The Learning Designer I (Instructional Designer I) is an entry-level position and works as a strategic partner with senior learning designers, providing support in course design, accessibility, and online teaching practices. The role balances hands-on course development with consultation and review activities to ensure consistency and quality across online courses and programs. The minimum starting salary for the Learning Designer I is $52,100; Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits. The Learning Designer II (Instructional Designer II) is a mid-level position and works as a strategic partner with instructors, providing expertise in course design, accessibility, and online teaching practices. The role balances hands-on course development with consultation, training, and review activities to ensure consistency and quality across online courses and programs. The minimum starting salary for the Learning Designer II is $61,990; Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits. Responsibilities The Learning Designer I is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and continuous improvement of online courses. Core functions include supporting effective use of the learning management system and instructional technologies, conducting systematic course quality reviews, and ensuring compliance with accessibility and universal design standards. The Learning Designer II is responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of online courses. Core functions include applying instructional design principles, supporting effective use of the learning management system and instructional technologies, conducting systematic course quality reviews, and ensuring compliance with accessibility and universal design standards. The role also contributes to original content development, faculty training, and select system-wide initiatives.
