ABOUT THE ROLE

The Fabrication Shop Supervisor oversees daily production operations, ensuring fabrication work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality standards. This role manages shop personnel, schedules production, coordinates material flow, and drives continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The position is responsible for maintaining productivity, cost control, and compliance with company policies and safety requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Supervise daily fabrication shop operations and production workflows
  • Schedule labor, assign work, and manage employee timekeeping
  • Coordinate raw material ordering, take-offs, and delivery logistics
  • Monitor production output to ensure quality and schedule adherence
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce safety compliance
  • Oversee fabrication of components for molds and production needs
  • Maintain inventory control for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and fabrication procedures
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Manage cost control measures to support departmental budgets
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff
  • Support equipment usage including welding, cutting, and fabrication tools
  • Promote company policies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties and overtime as required


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with strong fabrication knowledge and proven supervisory experience. They are highly organized, safety-focused, and capable of managing both people and production flow in a fast-paced shop environment. This individual is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all fabrication operations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in fabrication or precast manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication and construction processes
  • Experience with inventory management (Raw, WIP, Finished Goods)
  • Proficiency in welding and fabrication methods (GMAW/SMAW, plasma cutting, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret weld procedures (AWS / ASME Section IX)
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to analyze production data and improve processes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety standards and enforcement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
