Contract Legal Specialist

Location: Remote; will coordinate with teams in EDT and Dublin, IRE

Duration: One year assignment, with potential to go longer depending on performance and business needs

Overview:

We are looking for a high-output team member to manage our contract lifecycle. You won't just be reading lines; you will be the "human-in-the-loop," leveraging AI-driven legal tools to accelerate reviews while ensuring 100% compliance with our risk thresholds.

Background:

  • The Legal Operations function supports Legal with operations, program management, tooling, billing, and vendor management, and partners across Legal sub-teams.
  • Oversees Legal Ops sub-teams such as Business Support (handles escalated user complaints, product abuse reports, internal inquiries, language reviews, law-enforcement workflows) and Product/Marketing legal operations supporting product compliance and EVNT incident workflows.
  • Coordinates legal involvement in incidents (EVNTs), triage, and communications review, working with product attorneys, privacy, and data protection.
  • Provides intake and routing for legal requests (contracts, IP, immigration, product review, billing, etc.) and maintains how-to contact pathways for each legal topic.

Key Responsibilities:

High-Velocity Review: Execute thorough reviews of inbound contracts, using internal playbooks and AI tools to identify deviations from standard legal thresholds.

Strategic Drafting: Revise contract language and draft bespoke clauses for non-standard requests, ensuring the company's interests are protected.

Workflow Management: Triaging and prioritizing high-volume requests from business teams; making autonomous decisions on when to approve vs. when to escalate to counsel.

Legal Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for business inquiries regarding Terms of Service, providing clear, actionable guidance.

Knowledge Optimization: Assist in refining legal resources and "prompt" libraries to improve the accuracy of our automated contract workflows.

Future-Proof: You will work at the intersection of law and technology, gaining experience in how modern legal teams scale through automation.

Job Duties:

  • Manage inbound contract requests from various business teams and prioritize urgent requests as necessary
  • Conduct thorough reviews of contracts in relation to internal legal thresholds, criteria, and risks and autonomously find solutions for complex, non-standard, and unique contract requests
  • Manage information flows among internal business partners, external parties, and counsel
  • Draft and revise contract wording where appropriate while assessing risk and providing recommendations to business partners and counsel with the goal of protecting the company's interests
  • Make autonomous judgments on singular contracts regarding approvals, the need for escalation for further review, including counsel review
  • Assist with creating legal resources for business partners
  • Support the team in ad hoc research and projects as necessary

Ideal Background:

  • 1-3+ years reviewing commercial contracts (such as NDAs, vendor agreements, or SaaS contracts); contract experience does not need to be US-based; the key skill is contract review and redlining, not the jurisdiction
  • Experience reviewing and redlining contracts (modifying clauses, suggesting edits, tracking changes)
  • Ability to understand legal clauses and assess contract risk when changes are made
  • Experience reviewing vendor or service agreements, ideally in a business or tech environment
  • Experience handling a high volume of contract requests or contract intake queues
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • Experience using CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tools with AI integrated
  • Experience using AI legal tools (e.g., Gemini, AI-assisted contract review tools)
  • Familiarity with SaaS, technology, or vendor contracts
