Job Title: Quality Engineer Location(s): Elmore, OH Overview The Quality Engineer I is a key member of the Quality team and plays an integral role in maintaining and improving effective quality systems. This position works closely with internal teams and customers to identify and resolve quality issues, helping drive operational efficiency and cost savings. Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and collaborate on customer quality issues.
- Utilize root cause analysis tools to determine causes of quality problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Support quality standards such as ISO9001, AS9100D, and ISO17025 through participation in documentation, internal and external audits, and calibration activities.
- Work cross-functionally with team members to maintain alignment on quality processes and improvements.
- Participate in site projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, yield, and operational performance.
- Contribute to maintaining strong and effective quality management systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or technical field required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy preferred.
- Approximately 8 years of experience as a Quality Engineer preferred.
- Experience in metals or materials production environments preferred.
- Knowledge of systematic quality management systems.
- Experience with ETQ quality management software required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to complete tasks on schedule.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills with both customers and internal teams.
- Ability to train and support team members.
- Solution-oriented mindset.
Travel
- Up to 10% travel may be required.
- Travel may increase to 25-50% during the first six months depending on project needs.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequent communication through speaking and hearing.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 35 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Occasional exposure to low concentrations of fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals within regulatory limits.
- Noise level in the work environment is generally low.
