| Job Duties |
The Department of Management within the College of Business is inviting applications for a full-time, nine-month Teaching Instructor beginning August 2026 to teach twelve semester hours of undergraduate courses in the Leadership and Professional Development Curriculum (
LPDC). This is a non-tenure track position. The Instructor will also be expected to provide service to the university, community, and profession, regularly attend college and department events and undertake additional duties as assigned by the coordinator and/or chair. The current position involves teaching face-to-face classes but may involve some course sections online in the future. This position will be responsible for teaching courses in the
LPDC based on the needs of the department and college. A description of the courses covered in the
LPDC is provided below:
BUSI 1200, Strategy First, is designed to create enthusiasm for the study of business and to provide a foundation for personal and professional leadership development for first year business students. Students examine strategy motives and fundamental business concepts that drive companies to operate as they do.
BUSI 2200, Experiential Leadership, builds practical applied team and interpersonal skills in a team environment. Students participate in team-based projects where an emphasis is placed on understanding the stages of team development.
BUSI 3200, Professional Development and Ethical Leadership, is the junior year course that emphasizes developing a personal brand while behaving in a professional manner. Students participate in a practice interview and a leadership networking event to reinforce the networking and etiquette skills that are discussed in class.
The College of Business Leadership and Professional Development (
LPDC) program culminates with the
BUSI 4200, Leadership Capstone, course. Building from skills developed in the previous
LPDC courses, as well as pulling from their core and concentration coursework, students analyze the different characteristics of leaders presented during class discussions. Students also engage in different introspective activities to help define their own leadership philosophies.
