Description Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace, defense and space organizations throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for close to 70 years. Our Cypress California space products client needs a mid-level software engineer to support a space-based product line. Most of the work will be performed on-site with some remote work possible. 9x80 work schedule Monday-Friday with some hybrid possible. This position requires an active Secret clearance. The salary target range is: $130k -$160k for Senior level $150k - $195k for Principal level You will work in a small software team developing GUI, GPU and other software supporting multiple products. The position requires CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) experience. Responsibilities Involved with the design, development, analysis, testing and debugging of computer software applications and/or systems. May include Image and Signal Processing, Real-time, Firmware, Nuclear/Hi-Rel, FAA Certified, Database Design, Operating Systems, Operator/Machine Interface, or others. Develop software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. Determine hardware compatibility. Complete documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications. Responsible for leading group of engineers on a technical activity and completion of activity on time and budget Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments. Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements Develop prototypes to retire key development risks Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required Participate in preparation of proposals Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel Lead and direct the work of others as assigned Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings Lead less-experienced engineers About Acara Solutions Acara is a premier provider of recruiting and workforce solutions-we help companies compete for talent. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering Must currently hold an active Secret Security Clearance, or higher. Min 5 years of prior experience in the aerospace or defense industries Min 5-10 years of experience in Visual Studio, C# and DotNET software Min 5-10 years of experience developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) Min 3 years of experience with GPU processors and CUDA Some local travel may be required in the future. Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Prior experience with real-time and multi-threaded programming. Understanding of computer interfaces and communications (serial, UDP, DMA). Knowledge of Julia is highly desirable. Previous experience developing software under Windows, Linux, and FreeRTOS. Required computer languages: C, C++, C#, Python. Understanding Matlab is desirable. Image processing experience is highly desired.
