Security Officer - Department Store Patrol Driver

As a Security Officer - Department Store Patrol Driver in Glen Burnie, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will spend much of your shift driving between designated areas, completing routine patrols, and staying highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to requests, and communicate clearly with store teams and visitors. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and a people-first approach to every interaction. A valid driver's license is required.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, team members, and shoppers by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional support when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor alarms and/or video surveillance when assigned, observe for unusual activity, and promptly communicate concerns to on-site management and/or local authorities per post orders.
• Document security-related activity in written reports, including incident details and actions taken, and maintain clear communication during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
