Configuration Management Specialist

The Configuration Management Specialist establishes and maintains effective configuration management for systems and system documentation. Produces or reviews products that include evaluating and tracking of contractor deliverables for baseline control, summaries and reports to determine impact on configuration status of assigned systems/sub-systems. Assists with receiving, processing, suspending, and distributing data using the Paperless CRDL Delivery System (PCDS). Includes filing of all contractor data delivery letters/correspondence. Provides data management support to prepare and maintain Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) for inclusion in Requests for Proposal (RFP), contracts, or contract modifications. Supports Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), establishes agendas, consolidates briefings, and ensure team participation.

  • Accomplishes configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and final disposition of Advance Change Study Notices (ACSNs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), Request for Deviation/Waiver (RFD/RFW), and Deficiency Reports (DRs).
  • Experience collaborating with programs and business/functional experts
  • Experience creating/writing a Configuration Management Plan (CMP), Configuration Control documentation
  • Experience performing functional, physical, and delivery configuration audits
  • Experience providing access to CM baseline to organizations responsible for operation and maintenance of program-managed systems
  • Experience providing Quality Assurance (QA) support to include maintaining the assigned PMO process library, periodic reviews of assigned Program Management Office (PMO) and Contractor processes for compatibility and completeness,
  • Experience supporting configuration control boards and configuration working groups including agenda and minute preparation, coordination with board member, writing appropriate board directives, and tracking action item status
  • Experience supporting maintenance, monitoring and reporting on the PMO CM baselines and monitoring and reporting on the development Contractors' CM activities
  • Experience using SAFe Agile development methodologies
  • Maintains configuration status accounting data bases and records to reflect the configuration status of baseline documentation and fielded systems and equipment and manage issuance and tracking of Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs).
  • Makes recommendations for Government review and disposition, and assists in the preparation and conduct, of Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
  • Possesses knowledge and capability to maintain and update PMO CMP and processes pertaining to CM
  • Reviews change proposals for thoroughness, configuration, and data management impacts, and compliance with Government requirements.
  • Support Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Program Reviews, and compliance Audits. Supports audit planning, auditing hardware, and software configuration items (CIs), and dispositions and tracking of action items and minutes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in configuration management
  • MS Office Suite (Visio, Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
