Title: Cooler Operations Intern - Logistics & Supply Chain
Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly Status: Non-Exempt Days/Shifts: M-F Location: Salinas, CA Reports to: Sr. Manager Cooler Ops GENERAL DISCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Cooler Operations Intern will collect and analyze data to assist with development of a Drop Trailer Program at our refrigerated distribution warehouse (Cooler). The intern will collaborate with the raw materials sourcing team and operations staff at our production facility (Plant) to develop more efficient transportation schedules between the fields, Cooler and Plant while maximizing utilization of shipping weight capacities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS / DUTIES OF THE POSITION * Learn current shipping and transportation processes between the fields, Cooler, and Plant * Collect data related to raw materials arrival timing
* Analyze current transportation timing data to assess whether projected timing data was accurate * Develop a proposed Drop Trailer Program schedule * Create SOPs to help implement program * Develop metrics to measure success of the program * Create and deliver a final presentation to the executive team * Other duties as assigned INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
* An Intermediate to Advanced skill level with Excel and statistical analysis skills required
* Strong attention to detail and data management experience preferred * Solid analytical and critical thinking skills strongly preferred * Strong organizational, computer, and communication skills preferred * Bilingual, Spanish/English is preferred * Experience with forecasting software is a plus * Valid driver's license and use of reliable personal transportation is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
