As our General Maintenance Technician, you'll travel between customer locations tackling everything from routine checks to unexpected surprises. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position.   • Carry out general facility maintenance and housekeeping duties, as well as routine maintenance and inspections on existing systems, including:

    • Filter changes
    • Oiling and greasing
    • Belt adjustments or replacements
    • Cleaning cooling towers, coils, evaporators, and condensers
    • Water treatment


  • Support systems operations under contract with designated customers.
  • Pick up and deliver parts or equipment as needed.
  • Complete indoor air quality (IAQ)-related tasks.
  • Install and replace residential single-unitary heating, air conditioning, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform drain and sewer cleaning.
  • Interpret work orders and complete assigned tasks with limited direction.
  • Move furniture and equipment as assigned.
  • Operate a variety of tools and machines necessary for operations.
  • Requisition new supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate subcontractors for facility maintenance needs and ensure all requirements are met.
  • Maintain effective communication between off-site locations and the home office.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety and vehicle-related policies.
  • Comply with all company policies and standards.
  • Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as requested or assumed.


Required Education & Experience:



  • Technical school facility maintenance certification OR one (1) year or more of hands-on maintenance experience, is required.
  • Must currently possess the State of Minnesota Special Boiler license, or have the ability to obtain this license within 45 days of date of hire.
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of maintenance fundamentals.
  • Experience using maintenance equipment and techniques, interpreting drawings/specifications, and applying disciplinespecific standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for maintenance tasks and follow department procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with customers and team members; previous customer service experience is preferred.


Other Details:



  • This role will support the Duluth, MN territory and surrounding areas.
  • Must join Local 11 union.
  • Must be willing and able to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be willing and able to drive to various customer locations daily.
  • All offers of employment are expressly contingent upon the satisfactory completion, in accordance with Company policy, of a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Compensation & Benefits:



  • Wages and other benefits are paid in accordance with the Local 11 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
