Summary Sr. Business Analyst
This senior-level role is ideal for a highly technical professional with experience in data automation, tool-building, and data structuring within a retail, grocery, or CPG environment. Supporting the Albertsons Schematics team, this individual will develop macros, queries, and automated tools that enable business teams to efficiently utilize data. The Sr. Business Analyst will independently manage technical workstreams, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and ensure highquality, accurate data outputs that support operational excellence. Note: This role does not perform insights storytelling, business recommendations, or narrative analysis. Project/Client Management & Cross-Functional Support - Manage individual technical projects and timelines to ensure high-quality, on-time tool delivery. - Communicate with internal partners to understand requirements and determine the best technical approach. - Support schematic, assortment, and related teams by delivering ready-to-use structured data and tools. - Maintain strong collaborative relationships across internal teams. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. - 3+ years of experience in technical data role involving: - Advanced Excel (including macros) - Queries and/or automated data workflows - Dashboarding tools (Power BI preferred) - Experience with retail, grocery, or CPG datasets is highly preferred but not required; technical skills are the top priority. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Strong technical and analytical abilities, including macro development and dashboard creation. - Advanced Excel proficiency; familiarity with Power BI or similar tools. - Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. - Strong organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. - Clear and professional written and verbal communication. - Strong customer service orientation. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Job Duty Data Analysis/Interpretation/Recommendation * Analyze business needs/requirements and provide recommendations to implement and administer new/existing products, processes, and systems * Identify client organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggest areas of improvement * Utilize various data systems, extract raw data from reporting systems, and conduct in-depth analysis on various KPI's * Define major business opportunities by prioritizing information to support the goals of our Clients, Customers, and Company * Consult with internal and external customers to present data and provide actionable insights to assist with meeting business objectives, tactics, or marketing strategies Project/Client Management and Support * Perform project management duties by executing project schedules and deadlines, monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems, and ensuring timely deliverables * Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management * Provide business updates and track overall business KPI's for management and executive team * Manage and maintain ongoing strategic and collaborative relationships Manage Direct Reports * Manage, train, and mentor team to help them achieve skill development and professional objectives * Manage workload of direct reports to ensure client satisfaction * Create best-in-class practices for team to follow * Ensure team thoroughly understands companies' businesses and the issues and challenges facing the industry and organization Miscellaneous * Perform other job-related projects as needed Supervisory Responsibilities Direct Reports - Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources Indirect Reports - May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports Travel and/or Driving Requirements - Travel and Driving are not essential duties or functions of this job Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Field of Study/Area of Experience: Click here to enter text. - 3-5 years of experience in sales/category insights and analytics role (CPG or Agency) Skills, Knowledge and Abilities - Analytical and research Skills - Ability to direct, lead, coach, and develop people - Team building Skills - Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines - Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines - Excellent customer service orientation - Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers Environmental & Physical Requirements Office / Sedentary Requirements Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
