Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 2

Work Location: 1311 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N Ste 130 Houston, TX 77043

Assignment Duration: 06 Months Possibility to extend or convert

Work Schedule: 9:30am-6:30pm CT, No OT

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:













Position Purpose:

Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience. Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.

License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred

Foundation Care: Licenses/Certifications: Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license OR the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire

AcariaHealth and Homescripts: State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis

Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist

Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order.

Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval

Purchase, receive and coordinate inventory

Maintain and update inventory recap report

Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation

Maintain prescription logs

Accurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policy

Assist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenance

Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements

Performs other duties as assigned

Dispensing Pharmacy team is responsible for the fulfillment orders. Tech's duties include picking, labeling, inventory related duties and shipping as needed.

  • Onsite team- working with 20 other techs and pharmacists.
  • Key projects include DME pumps, and infusion orders.
  • We might have upcoming full-time opportunities within the team

  • Technicians will be assigned to picking duties. They will typically work on getting orders picked for the day.
  • The role is unique since its closed doors, no patients/mail order pharmacy and specialty.
  • Will be measured against KPI's/SLA's once determined from the team


Candidate Requirements
Education/Certification Required: high school diploma Preferred:
Licensure Required: State pharmacy technician license Preferred:
Years of experience required: open to new tech's but prefer techs with 1+ year's experience especially inventory experience. Any Specialty tech experience is a plus.
