Position Title: Pharmacy Technician 2

Work Location: 1311 W. Sam Houston Pkwy N Ste 130 Houston, TX 77043

Assignment Duration: 06 Months Possibility to extend or convert

Work Schedule: 9:30am-6:30pm CT, No OT

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

Position Purpose: Work with the Pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office (i.e. biller, coder, office assistance, or prior authorization/certification) experience. Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses. License/Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred Foundation Care: Licenses/Certifications: Current Missouri Pharmacy Technician license OR the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire AcariaHealth and Homescripts: State pharmacy technician license(s) relative to where the employee and assigned pharmacy are located (exception being NY where a pharmacy technician license is not required). License is required upon hire. Responsibilities Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist Locate correct medication and strength to complete picking of order. Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for Pharmacist approval Purchase, receive and coordinate inventory Maintain and update inventory recap report Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return to stock as appropriate; complete corresponding documentation Maintain prescription logs Accurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policy Assist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenance Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards
Story Behind the Need
What is the purpose of this team? Describe the surrounding team (team culture, work environment, etc.) & key projects. Do you have any additional upcoming hiring needs or is this request part of a larger hiring initiative?	Dispensing Pharmacy team is responsible for the fulfillment orders. Tech's duties include picking, labeling, inventory related duties and shipping as needed. Onsite team- working with 20 other techs and pharmacists. Key projects include DME pumps, and infusion orders. We might have upcoming full-time opportunities within the team
Typical Day in the Role
Walk me through the day-to-day responsibilities and a description of the project (Outside of the Workday JD). What are the performance expectations/metrics? What makes this role unique?	Technicians will be assigned to picking duties. They will typically work on getting orders picked for the day. The role is unique since its closed doors, no patients/mail order pharmacy and specialty. Will be measured against KPI's/SLA's once determined from the team
