Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Office Administrator provides direct support for the University Learning Center's ( ULC) reception desk, administers ULC digital engagement and content strategy, and supports the ULC's outreach and event plans.

Duties include:

  • Serve as primary backup for front desk reception, supporting and covering reception as needed.
  • Manage campus outreach for ULC services, including communication with campus departments, creating and distributing campus marketing materials, and coordinating the unit's events and communication calendar.
  • Oversee ULC social media presence by developing content, implementing campaigns and monitoring engagement.
  • Coordinate and support events, including space reservations, catering, logistics planning, and onsite coverage; may require occasional schedule flex for evening or weekend event coverage.
  • Maintain and update the ULC website, serving as the primary administrator for associated technologies (e.g., UNCW chatbot).
  • Manage all ULC referrals, including through Starfish and website submissions, conducting outreach and producing reports.
  • Support the Business Operations Coordinator with operational tasks such as work orders, purchasing, inventory management, technology needs, and surplus processes.
  • Coordinate workflow and communication among ULC administrative staff, student receptionists, and the ULC Student Marketing Committee to ensure smooth daily operations.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an office setting and/or reception work and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Community Engagement and/or social media experience.
  • Associates Degree.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and particularly written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organization skills.
