Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Analyst.

In this role, the successful candidate will provide data management and analytical support to the NYU Langone Health Faculty Group Practice (FGP) to assist in achieving the organization's financial and operational goals. As part of the fast-paced FGP Analytics team, the Senior Data Analyst will identify, query, and analyze data from a variety of sources to measure FGP performance, identify opportunities, and provide actionable insights to help drive NYU Langone Health business decisions. The Senior Data Analyst will have the creative vision to translate data into dynamic Tableau dashboards that will provide compelling analysis of operational and financial issues and provide self-service platforms to end-users. The position will act as liaison to the IT Data Warehouse team to assist in building and managing the FGPs internal data infrastructure and reporting systems.
To be effective, the Senior Data Analyst will have both a technical and analytical mindset to successfully collaborate with diverse teams and functional areas such as IT Data Warehouse and Analytics, EPIC EMR, Practice Operational Staff, and Corporate Management. The ideal candidate will be adept at using data to effectively communicate a business story to an audience with varying levels of technical knowledge.
The position will primarily focus on operational and financial projects for Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, and Practice Operations, Managed Care, and Clinically Integrated Network activity, as well assist on other projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Data Analyst will create data mining, predictive modeling, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends and derive insights from large data sets.
  • The Senior Data Analyst will design and construct creative Tableau dashboards in collaboration with operational business units, who act as business customers and end-users of data and analyses. The dashboards are critical for providing timely data and insightful information to FGP Leadership and operational teams.
  • The Senior Data Analyst will work on Alteryx Designer and will develop workflows in Alteryx to query and create data sources for use in reporting and Tableau dashboards. Research new data sources and collaborate with technical partners to access and implement data feeds. Schedule and maintain the workflows to update data sources as needed for adapting business requirements. Troubleshoot dashboards, workflows, and underlying queries as needed.
  • The Senior Data Analyst will act as liaison to IT Data Warehouse, Reporting, and Dashboard teams. Work closely with the Data Architecture and Data Engineering teams to help create and optimize custom views and tables to enable reporting. Assist IT in enhancing the data warehouses including researching and validating tables and fields to support FGP business needs.
  • The Senior Data Analyst will analyze large datasets using appropriate systems to identify opportunities for FGP operational and revenue enhancement; assist in building new models and metrics; identify trends and develop work plans with management to address potential operations issues. Analyze large data sets in Excel to yield actionable findings.
  • The Senior DataAnalyst will work with Revenue Cycle and Operational leaders and team members to assist with data gathering or interpretation. Ensure the integrity of Revenue Cycle and Operational reports and databases. Support the teams in dashboard build or operations performance analysis.
  • The Senior Data Analyst will act as data and dashboard evangelist to a wide audience of users, including analysts, practice operations staff, and senior leadership. Actively seek feedback from business users to improve insights of analyses and improve the functionality of dashboards.
  • The Senior DataAnalyst will assist in mentoring junior members of NYU Langone Health analytics teams by sharing and teaching technical skills, prototyping analyses, and ensuring quality of results.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have:

Experience with SQL programming. (Writing SQL queries, stored procedure, functions, CTEs, subqueries, etc.).
- Experience designing, developing, and building dashboards in Tableau or other data visualization tools.
- Experience and comfort with any programing language (Python, SAS, etc.).
- Familiarity with ETL processes for large datasets. Knowledge of Alteryx or similar ETL tools and cloud-based analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau Prep, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge of Excel; e.g. pivot tables, writing complex formulas.
- Familiarity using generative AI to automate manual processes and enhance analytics.
- Ability to communicate insights from data effectively across a cross-functional team environment.
- Ability to work independently while also having a collaborative team mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong interest in healthcare business and ability to consider higher-level business context.
- Bachelors degree, preferably in a computer science, statistics, or healthcare related major; or the equivalent combination of experience and education.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,481.60 - $100,800.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
