Security Officer - Detention Facility Patrol

As a Security Officer - Detention Facility Patrol in Orangeburg, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will support access control points, report concerns, and deliver professional customer service through clear communication with staff, visitors, and responders. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a public school district location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization, direct visitors to proper check-in procedures, and/or assist staff with traffic flow during arrivals, dismissals, and events.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, documenting actions taken, and/or coordinating with school administrators and local emergency services as directed.
• Complete daily activity reports and incident reports, communicate observations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision, and/or support drills and campus procedures according to post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Corrections Officer License is required.
• A Law Enforcement Officer License is required.
• A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
