HJF is seeking an Intern whose work will involve experiential learning of project management tasks for an education project. This is a full-time temporary position (40 hrs/week for 8-9 weeks) that includes a combination of virtual and in-person opportunities in support the Center of Advanced Research for Military Optimization, Readiness, and Rehabilitation (ARMORR) at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


  • Assists with administrative and education-related tasks.
  • Supports the preparation of technical reports and project summaries.
  • Assists with compiling project metrics including training data info sheets.
  • Assists with organizing and archiving project folders.
  • Supports course content upload and organization on a Learning Management System.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic project administration.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a home office background check.

Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay for this position is $18/hour.
