Job Summary

Lead tariff classification, entry approval, and import compliance strategy for master distributor operations. Responsible for mitigating duty exposure, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing broker performance while driving process optimization across cross-functional stakeholders. Gather disparate data from various data sources; analyze and normalize to ensure data integrity for analysis. Provide consistent, relevant, and accurate data as well as guidance/knowledge of the data and definitions that are available for analysis.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Review and approve Entry Summary filings to ensure accuracy of declared value, HTS classification, & duty rate.
• Assign, validate, and maintain accurate Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications across product portfolio
• Conduct periodic HTS audits to mitigate duty exposure and ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
• Serve as subject matter expert on import tariff regulations, trade remedies, and special duty programs
• Review and approve inbound cargo documentation prior to customs clearance to prevent delays, holds, or penalties
• Monitor and interpret changes in tariff schedules, trade agreements, and regulatory updates impacting landed cost
• Develop process improvements for the above
• Serves as a resource to assigned clients in area of expertise.
• Gathers and compiles raw data; conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
• Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis; prepare reports with charts and graphs, mailing lists, maps, and ad hoc requests.
• Defines data definitions and documents data limitations.
• Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis.
• Provides input on policies and procedures.
• Participates in department and interdepartmental projects.

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline.
• Generally, 10+ years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas

Environmental Job Requirements

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in related field.
• Experience in logistic processes of warehouse operations and distribution programs.
• Experience acquiring and analyzing data within large multi-system enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with data rationalization and data definitions.

Pay: $119,105.27 - $170,150.38 per year.
