Summary:

The MWRA Maintenance Department has an opening for an internship. The Maintenance Department provides technical support in the shop or field with predictive maintenance technologies and techniques for the Deer Island Treatment Plant, one of the largest treatment plants in the United States.

Salary:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Key Responsibilities



  • Take infrared temperature readings, and enter related data in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Assist with oil samples using the Fluidscan handheld monitor.
  • Label/tag equipment in the field; make changes or additions in the Maximo work order system.
  • Gather equipment asset information or inventory, for motors, gearboxes, pumps, and then enter information in spreadsheets and/or the Maximo database.
  • Assist with waste oil audits in the field.
  • Assist CMG Project Managers with condition monitoring tasks in the shop, and with predictive maintenance functions in the field.
  • Generate reports with photos and/or attachments, using Word, Excel, or Maximo.
  • Read prints and schematics to identify and verify field equipment and their locations, and tag equipment with MWRA ID numbers in the field, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.



Required Qualifications



  • Strong communications skills.
  • Uses the Authority's laptop or desktop PC to perform data entries, run queries and reports.
  • Assists CMG staff in the shop or field with predictive maintenance tasks and use of predictive maintenance technologies and techniques.
  • Enters data and related equipment measurements and information in Excel spreadsheet format or in the Maximo database.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Internship duration: May - August
