AMSOIL is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to help ensure our products consistently meet the highest standards for quality, performance, and reliability. This advanced professional will play a key part in strengthening AMSOIL's quality systems by leading investigations, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions that improve processes and prevent future defects.


The QA Specialist partners closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and enhance the effectiveness of the Quality Management System. This role also helps develop quality procedures, leads internal audits, and supports compliance with ISO 9001 standards.


This position reports on-site to the AMSOIL Center in Superior, Wisconsin.



Core Responsibilities:


Product Quality Management:



  • Develop and implement quality assurance plans and inspection criteria for manufactured products
  • Support the qualification and validation of new equipment and packaging materials to ensure quality and performance standards are met
  • Identify nonconformities, document defects, and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues


Purchased Items Management:



  • Establish inspection criteria for incoming materials and work with suppliers to address quality concerns.


QMS Support and Documentation:



  • Maintain accurate quality documentation, including inspection records, test results, and corrective action reports
  • Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with QMS requirements


Continuous Improvement:



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving product quality, process efficiency, and defect prevention.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions


Training and Development:



  • Train and mentor employees on quality assurance procedures and promote a culture of quality, safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization


Position Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience supporting or maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards, internal auditing, and quality documentation practices
  • Ability to conduct or support root cause analysis
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and resolving quality issues
  • Ability to analyze quality metrics and process data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate quality documentation


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certification in Quality Assurance or Continuous Improvement (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar)
  • Experience with Lean, continuous improvement initiatives, and defect prevention projects
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement tools
  • Experience training or mentoring QA technicians or team members
